Player Spotlight: Bo Van Pelt

Player Spotlight: Bo Van Pelt

Crazy effective off the tee and just as dangerous on the greens. If there was ever a guy who  showed no fear when going up against Tiger in the late 2000s, it was Bo Van Pelt, one of the many golf professionals that trust The Perfect Putter to dial in the true speed of the greens.

Unfortunately, Van Pelt has been sidelined for most of the 2016 season. But from 2009 to 2013, the Oklahoma State alumni was near the top of multiple leaderboards week in, week out on the PGA TOUR. In fact, Van Pelt eclipsed the $3 Million earnings mark on TOUR alone during the 2010 and 2012 seasons.

With six professional wins worldwide to his credit (including a record-setting performance in Malaysia), Van Pelt broke through on the PGA TOUR by earning his first win in Milwaukee. That victory was the icing on the cake on a stellar year. More and more, Van Pelt would steadily become a face you’d see in the mix on the weekend thanks to his impeccable ball striking, and rock-solid putting.

That same year as his first win, Van Pelt ranked second in putting from inside 20-25 feet (21.19 percent). Even better, he also lead the TOUR in total birdies with 395.

2012 was the best year of Van Pelt’s career with the putter. He ranked 12th in strokes gained: putting and was a perfect 673 for 673 of putts from 3 feet and in. Highlights from 2012 include 10 top-10s, a second-place finish at Congressional CC, and only three missed cuts the entire season.

Van Pelt was first introduced to The Perfect Putter in 2015 when he used it for a U.S. Open qualifier. The putting clinic he put on after first using it made him a true believer.

"The first week back using The Perfect Putter I made 21 birdies and an eagle and then went out and shot 7 under on my opening 9 holes to help me qualify for the 2015 US Open at Chambers Bay. I am sold on the benefits!"

More than his performance on the course, Van Pelt is a family man through and through, which is a friendly reminder that sometimes, things are more important than golf.
